Welcome Spring (Finally!) with the First Fresh Feast of 2011--Seating is Limited, Don't Wait to Reserve Your Spot!

I'm a firm believer that eating sensibly isn't just about what you eat, but knowing where it comes from as well. In 2008, Jane Tabb of Kearneysville, WV, launched the Fresh Feast on the Farm program to provide diners with a unique experience that would help take them back to the roots (pun intended) of their food. Saturday, April 30, Marty and Carol Kable of Elmwood Farm will host the 2011 Spring Fresh Feast on the Farm.

"Fresh Feasts" are held throughout the year and feature local, seasonal food and are held on area farms.. Each Feast also serves as a fundraiser with 10% of the gross profits going to the host farm and 10% going to another farm-friendly organization. The April event will benefit the H. Hart Bennett Foundation, which supports FFA, 4-H, and Jefferson Country Youth Agriculture. An additional 10% will be donated to the H. Hart Bennett Foundation, thanks to the generosity of Elmwood hosts, Marty and Carol Kable.

The spring dinner will be held in Elmwood Farm's new machinery building, and there will be a walking tour of Elmwood Farm prior to the 5- course dinner. Dress is country elegant, but you will be on a working farm, so keep that in mind when choosing your footwear.
